RiS effectively replaces the SpeakOut! course. Members that already have their SpeakOut! certification are not required to take RiS. Certification through Respect in Sport will be the equivalent to certification received when taking a SpeakOut! course. The program can be accessed on the BC Hockey website on the Clinics page under the Respect in Sport heading.

Respect in Sport User instructions and a FAQ sheet are also posted on the Clinics webpage to ease the transition for BC Hockey members to this new program.

RiS is an on-line training course for coaches and sport leaders. It is designed as a tool to assist coaches in identifying and dealing with abuse, neglect, harassment and bullying in sport. The on-line course curriculum is broken into six (6), 30 minute modules and includes audio/visual presentations, quizzes and printable handouts. Another beneficial feature of the program is that it does not need to be done all at once, it can be completed at your leisure.
