Coaching Information

HOW TO APPLY FOR CLINICS

Contact NMHA office and make sure you have a Hockey ID number.

Once you have this, please go to www.bchockey.net, left hand menu click on clinics

Applying to attend clinics requires you to pay online for the clinics and NMHA will reimburse the full amounts WITH RECIEPTS.

All team staff must do the online RESPECT IN SPORT or have SPEAK OUT.

 

Team Positions & Requirements

Coach including Assistant Coach – must have speak out or respect in sport and coach certification (see below), can be on bench at games and on ice at practice.

Coach certifications:

  • Initiation/Novice = minimum Initiation coach level or Coach Stream-Hybrid
  • Atom recreational (house) & above = minimum Coach or Coach Stream level
  • ALL Carded (Rep) = minimum DEV1 or Intermediate level

Manager – must have speak out or respect in sport, cannot be on bench at games or on ice at practice.

Safety Person – must have speak out or respect in sport and HCSP (trainer), can be on bench at games but not help with coaching (ie opening doors), cannot help on ice at practice.

ALL team staff must have current Police Record Checks on site at the NMHA office, must be done yearly.
Anyone not certified by Dec 1st is not eligible to be on a roster until the following season, even if you attend a clinic after Dec 1st, you are not certified until the following season.
