General Registration Information

Nanaimo Minor Hockey registers male and female players from 5-20 yrs old and hosts co-ed recreational and female recreational teams, as well as competitive (higher skill level) teams. The hockey season runs from Sept through to March(spring break).  Parent Q and A 2023

RETURNING PLAYER REGISTRATION – NOW OPEN APRIL 5, 2024

All returning players will receive an email once registration opens for the 2024-25 season.

REGISTRATION LETTER 2024  – Returning Players only

You can register a new sibling with your returning player, please send a copy of your player’s birth certificate and proof of address to administrator@hockeynanaimo.com, this will allow us to confirm your registration with Hockey Canada.

Overage Exemption Form to be submitted to NMHA no later than August 15, then VIAHA approves, players cannot play in the division of request until approved.

Underage Exemption Form to be submitted to NMHA no later than August 15, then VIAHA approves, players cannot play in the division of request until approved.

VIAHA Dual Roster Consent to be submitted to NMHA no later than August 1, then VIAHA approves, players cannot play in the division of request until approved.

NEW PLAYER REGISTRATION – CLOSED – BEGINS MAY 16

1/ Parents must complete the Respect in Sport Program online (click here), please select Nanaimo Minor Hockey for association.

2/ Please send a copy of your player’s birth certificate and proof of address to administrator@hockeynanaimo.com, this will allow us to confirm your registration with Hockey Canada. You may also come into the hockey office at 750 3rd St. Nanaimo, for registration information, payments and more.

3/ You will need a Spordle Account to register click here to see how to create a New SPORDLE Account and link your player(s) to that account.

PLAYER TRANSFER FROM OTHER ASSOCIATIONS – CLOSED OPENS MAY 16

Is your player moving to our area with their family(see boundaries below), did they play in an other association? If yes, please complete the below information package

Once completed please email all information to administrator@hockeynanaimo.com, with a copy of your player’s birth certificate, a phone number this will allow us to confirm your registration with Hockey Canada.

PLEASE NOTE:  All transfer must be approved by VIAHA and BCH.  Nanaimo MHA only collects the data then sends it on your player’s behalf.
